Terms of Service
Draft — Pending Legal Review
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using EdCommand ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of service
EdCommand provides educational decision-support tools for educators. The Service generates structured guidance, action plans, and documentation drafts based on information you provide about school situations.
3. Not legal advice
EdCommand is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. All outputs from the Service are educational decision-support guidance only. Nothing generated by the Service constitutes legal advice, creates an attorney-client relationship, or should be relied upon as a substitute for consultation with qualified legal counsel, your district's administration, or other appropriate professionals. Consult your district office or legal counsel for legal matters.
4. Not a substitute for professional judgment
The Service is a decision-support tool. It does not replace the professional judgment of educators, administrators, counselors, or other school personnel. Outputs should be reviewed, verified against your district's current policies, and adapted to your specific circumstances before use.
5. User responsibilities and PII
You are responsible for the content you submit. Do not enter full student names, student ID numbers, dates of birth, addresses, or other personally identifiable information (PII). Use initials or general descriptions only. You represent that any information you submit does not violate applicable privacy laws including FERPA.
6. Accuracy and currency
California-specific guidance content reflects generally applicable principles as of the date of publication. Laws, regulations, and district policies change. Verify all guidance against current requirements before acting. EdCommand does not warrant that guidance is complete, accurate, or current for your specific jurisdiction or district.
7. Accounts and subscriptions
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Subscription terms, pricing, and features are described at /pricing. Billing is processed by Stripe. Refund requests may be submitted to support@edcommand.app within 14 days of a charge.
8. Intellectual property
The Service and its content are owned by EdCommand. You retain ownership of information you submit. You grant EdCommand a limited license to process your submissions solely to provide the Service.
9. Prohibited uses
You may not use the Service to: violate any law; submit PII of students or minors; attempt to reverse-engineer the Service; resell access without authorization; or submit content that is harmful, discriminatory, or harassing.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS." EDCOMMAND MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, REGARDING THE SERVICE'S ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EDCOMMAND SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
11. Changes to terms
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered users.
